Dear Families,

After School Club

Welcome to a new term at After School Club! We have already had a lot of fun since being back, learning a variety of different games with playing cards, creating pointillism art with shiny gem dots, and drawing ever more complicated Sonic the Hedgehog pictures. Outside, children are having a great time with the new trapeze, making up dances to songs playing on the portable speaker, and of course running around and falling in the mud. It’s like a mini circus out there!

We would also like to take a moment to let you know that one of our amazing playworkers, Amy, has left us. Amy was very popular with the children she looked after and we're all really sad to see her go. We want to thank Amy for all her hard work and dedication during her time with us. She will be missed by both the children and the staff. We wish Amy all the best in her future endeavours and hope that she will come back to visit us soon!

We currently have spaces on Fridays, so please let Roberta know if you would like to book a place for your child(ren) at After School Club.

We look forward to September when we welcome our new cohort of infants but sadly say goodbye to our year 6 attendees. We have enjoyed their company at after school club and wish them well in their future academic career. Roberta has already amended the contracts for year 6 leavers. Relevant families have had confirmation but you will see full details on your September booking details if you have a child remaining at Henleaze. If a year 6 leaver is still on your September invoice (due to be sent in July) please contact admin@schoolsouthenleaze.co.uk. Please also let Roberta know if you need to switch any sessions at the after school club and we will try to accommodate your requirements.

Extra-Curricular Clubs and Activities

If your child is attending another club before School’s Out, please can you text the ASC phone and include where and when you would like us to pick up your child. If you would like your child to walk themselves over, we would still like you to tells us where they will be and what time we can expect them at School’s Out. You may also need to discuss this arrangement with the staff at your child’s club.

Pick-Up Times

We would like to say a huge thank you to all of the parents sticking to our pick-up times of 5.45 for After School Club and 5.30 for Holiday Club. Please continue to give us a call on 07847 479626 when you have arrived to collect your child.

Pokémon Cards

As with other toys brought from home, we cannot take responsibility for these and ask them to be left home wherever possible.

Website

If you would like information about After School Club and Holiday Club, including details of our staff team, committee members, activity programs, or policies, please visit our website here. We keep it regularly updated, and as always, welcome feedback and suggestions for improvement.

No Nuts and Sesame

We are a nut-free scheme. When making snacks or packed lunches, do not include any nuts or nut products such as peanut butter and nutella, and we have also excluded sesame and sesame products such as houmous. We have children with severe allergies to these foods and sending your child in with them can risk their health.

Who’s Who

Sufi joined our team in 2022 as a playworker. He has experience as childminder and teaching assistant, and would like to become a teacher after finishing university.

As a child, Sufi had lots of positive experiences at a similar After School Club, and would like to replicate them for our children at School’s Out.

YOU SAID, WE DID

Each newsletter we will share with you how we have responded to feedback from either an adult or a child. Your feedback is very important to us, and we welcome your comments.

YOU SAID:

“Can we have a trapeze instead of one of the swings?” M – Y4

WE DID:

We now have a trapeze outside in the Big Playground where children can practise their aerial acrobatics!

THANK YOU for your continued support!
